Know your rights! If you are deaf or have a hearing impairment you should take a look at the Equal Employment Opportunity Commission’s website. They have a section for questions and answers about deafness and hearing impairments in the workplace.
It covers frequently asked questions like “May an employer request medical information about an applicant’s hearing impairment that is obvious or that the applicant has disclosed?” as well as important information about accommodations for people with hearing disabilities.
