The recent European study utilized health adult participants, who started by taking a series of cognitive tests. After the tests were taken, researchers gave some participants either a 500 mg or 1000 mg resveratrol pill, and others a placebo pill. Participants then re-took the cognitive tests. The findings showed that participants who took the resveratrol pill performed better on the tests than those who took the placebo pill. Researchers from the study stated that they believe the reason for this improvement can be attributed to increased blood supply to the brain, a benefit of resveratrol.

Previous studies have already demonstrated that resveratrol also inhibits blood platelet aggregation that can lead to dangerous clots that can cause heart attacks and strokes and can help prevent cell damage that contributes to aging and cell degeneration.
